Yandere Simulator Characters

Senpai is the obsession of Yandere-chan and one of the main characters of Yandere Simulator. He is one of the male students that currently attends Akademi High School.

At the moment, Taro Yamada is his placeholder name. Taro Yamada is the Japanese equivalent of “John Doe”. John Doe can refer to a hypothetical person whose real identity is unknown. If Senpai is female, her name will be Taeko Yamada.[4]

Senpai’s name will never be spoken aloud, but it will appear in the Student Info screen and on in-game social media. The player may be able to pick Senpai’s name in a future build.[5] In the official game, the player will be able to choose Senpai’s gender. However, Senpai’s original gender is male; therefore, the article will refer to him as such.

Yui Rio is one of the female students that currently attends Akademi High School.

Yui Rio wears the default female school uniform, unless customized by the player.

Before the February 8th, 2016 Build, she had scarlet hair worn in a ponytail to her right and her eyes were scarlet as well. Her bust size is 0.5, the smallest in the game.

As of the February 8th, 2016 Build, Yui has scarlet hair kept up in a short ponytail on the right with her bangs swept to her left in mini triangle shapes and her eyes are burgundy.

In the January 3rd, 2017 Build, she had Yandere-chan‘s hairstyle colored dark red. This was fixed in the January 4th, 2017 Build.

As of the January 16th, 2017 Build, Yui wears a red friendship bracelet on her right wrist.

As of the February 2nd, 2017 Build, Yui wears red stockings and panties.

Among the personas currently in the game, Yui is Evil. If she sees a corpse or witnesses a murder, she will wink and compliment Yandere-chan on her crime, however then run off in order to not be considered an accomplice. She will not talk to Yandere-chan the next day after seeing her commit murder. If the player has their phone aimed at her, she will become annoyed and cover her face. She cannot participate in physical fights against murderers.

It is possible that she does not care for the boundaries of others, as the reference picture[1] of Yui is shown trying to grab Yuna Hina‘s rear. Druelbozo has explained that Yui is “Gettin’ that booty”.[2] As well, she is shown stealing Mei Mio‘s glasses in a second reference image.[3]

At 7:05 AM, Yui enters the school grounds. She walks to her locker at 7:10 AM and changes from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, she walks into the plaza, to the left side of the fountain, and gossips with Yuna Hina, Koharu Hinata, Mei Mio, Saki Miyu, Kokona Haruka, and Musume Ronshaku.

At 8:00 AM, Yui walks into Classroom 1-1 and sits at her desk. She starts her morning classes at 8:30 AM, and leaves to go to the cafeteria to gossip with the Social Butterflies at 1:00 PM.

Yui walks back to class again at 1:30 PM and finishes her afternoon classes at 3:30 PM. Afterwards, she heads to the Cooking Club and stays there until 5:00 PM. She then heads to her locker and changes from her indoor shoes to her outdoor shoes, then she lingers there until 5:15 PM, when she walks home.

  • Yui’s hairstyle before the February 8th, 2016 Build was changed because YandereDev thought that her previous hairstyle was “low budget” and “amateurish”.[4]
  • Her name is a reference to the most popular female Japanese names in 2012, 1st popular name being Yui, 2nd popular being Rio.[5][6]
  • In older versions of the game, Yui Rio’s name was Yui Hirasawa, and in builds shortly afterwards, Yui Hirasa. The placeholder name was inspired by K-ON.[7]
  • Her male counterpart is Haruto Yuto.
  • Yui used to be in the Martial Arts Club until November 15th, 2015 Build.
  • Before the June 29th, 2016 Build, Yui used to arrive 2nd to school on the right side, at 7:05 AM.
  • As of the February 1st, 2016 Build, she is the only currently implemented character with an Evil persona.

I thought I saw her with an older man in Shisuta Town tonight, but I didn’t think it was really her…
